The creative team uses metal components to produce “Aeolus”, a spacecraft that falls on the beach and becomes a relic from the future. The spacecraft will disappear and reappear as the tides change. The team hopes that the dissonance between an alien object and the natural environment will prompt people to reflect on the (im)balance between humankind and nature. Perhaps the relics and treasures have always existed, only they have never been noticed.

Live Theater Performance – Tidal Change
In mythologies around the world, wind and ocean are symbols of divine power. They embody the breath of the earth and the life force of creation.
In the live theater performance “Tidal Change”, produced by Zhang Yi-Jun, tribesmen are called upon in shaman Puringau’s songs of chants and prayers to search for the powers that protect the harbor. They track the footprints of the wind and gather its various powers. They follow the three clues from the God of Wind, the God of Sea, and the ancestral spirit and take the audience along on the journey on foot to Haikou Beach. Through a series of riddles, exploration, and interaction with the installations, the performance hopes that the message about nature’s warning signs, the smallness of mankind, and the preciousness of life will encourage reflection and insight.
